It’s a long way – Song #5 in 52 Song Project
Please start playing the song before you read my comments below. I don’t want to color your opinion of the song. Also, I think it sounds best with headphones…don’t know why. Just seems so to me.
What did I learn from this fifth week?
- Inspiration has an amazing effect on outlook, motivation, perspective, etc.
- The fingers on my left hand need some speed work so that I can clearly play the guitar melody without all of the odd stops you might hear here and there in the song.
- Inspiration can only take you so far. I was at a bit of a loss when it came to ideas for the bridge, bridge solo/melody, and how to end the song.
- Doing a single take on the vocals causes me to cringe a little when listening to the vocals of my songs, but it saves me so much time.
At the moment, I have 0 ideas for next week’s song, so I’m thinking it might be time for a jingle or sea shanty…Not promising one or the other, but I will try to pull one out.
